Brandon Hounshell, DDS
Dr. Brandon graduated from Shelby High School in 2005. He finished his undergraduate at Appalachian State University in 2009 where he was on the Dean’s list and was the president of the ASU Dental Club. He graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in May of 2013 and started working with his father, Paul Hounshell who had been practicing densitry since 1982. In August of 2015 he transitioned to owning and managing Hounshell Family Dentistry. He and his wife, Ashley, have one son and daughter, Jack and Sadie, and a chocolate lab, Bella.
During his 4 years at UNC, Dr. Brandon volunteered hundreds of hours to help the less fortunate at the Missions of Mercy Dental clinics held around the State of NC and he volunteered a month of his time at the Good Samaritan’s Health Clinic, a non-profit organization in Atlanta Georgia. He also is an active member of Hope Community Church and Board member of Hands on Missions in Shelby.

Tammy Davidson, Office Administrator/Treatment Coordinator
Tammy started her career in dentistry after graduating from CPCC in 1988 with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been a part of our practice since September of 1989. God has richly blessed her through her family of patients as she has formed many lasting friendships. Since September of 2008, she has retired from hygiene and now enjoys her duties as Office Administrator. Tammy is married. She and her husband Allan enjoy traveling and family time.
Kelly Bivins Weeks, Insurance/ Appointment Coordinator
Kelly began her career at Hounshell Family Dentistry in 2015 and served as Hygiene coordinator and dental assistant. Currently she is the friendly face tha greets our family of patients and serves as Insurance /Appointment Coordinator. She has been in the medical field most of her career. She resides in Shelby and has two children.
Hope Nestlerode, Assistant
Hope has been a dental assistant at Hounshell Family Dentisrty since 2005. She graduated from Burns High School and received her assisting certificate from Penn Foster School in Pennsylvania. She is married to her best friend and enjoys the many friendships made throughout the years here at HFD.
Hana Souza, Assistant
Hana became a dental assistant in 2005 after spending her childhood in Papua New Guinea with her missionary parents. Hana loves dental assisting and the patients that she has the privilege of talking with everyday. She is married to Jonathan Souza and they have a miracle baby named Joseph. They are active members at Emmanuel Baptist Church and love serving to spread the love of Jesus.
Joy Funderburke, Hygienist
Joy joined our team in 2013. She began her dental career in 1985 after graduating from CPCC with an associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. Joy resides in Kings Mountain with her husband and three children. She enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time with her family.
Lauren Tessneer, Hygienist
Lauren was born and raised here in Cleveland County. She attended Burns High School and later received her degree in dental hygiene from Catawba Valley. She and her husband, Dustin, have two children, Huntleigh and Miles. She enjoys family time whether it be at the dance studio, ball field, riding 4wheelers, or fishing at the family pond.
